Every effort is made to ensure that prepaid orders are shipped the next business day.
Orders by check from first-time customers are shipped upon check clearance.
Card orders outside France are shipped by international priority post and within France by standard post.
Books are shipped fully insured to all destinations.
US customers please note: Shipping costs to the US may appear quite high, but are necessary for two reasons: First, the continuing weakness of the Dollar vs. the Euro. Some four years ago, $1.00=€1.10; today $1.00=€0.69. That is a (frankly shocking) decline approaching 40% in relative value, and the Dollar continues to weaken.
Secondly, as of November 2010 the US Postal Service has instituted mandatory security screening of all airmail parcels entering the United States weighing one pound or more. This is of course a vast number of parcels to process and affects all US-bound parcels, regardless of weight or country of origin, and has inevitably degraded the efficiency of international airmail service. It has also raised its cost, as a $9.00 surcharge is now applied to the originating country for each parcel screened. The French postal service has passed along these costs by nearly doubling US airmail tarifs.
Shipments now normally require up to two weeks to reach their destination. From recent customer enquiries, it is also clear that these new security measures will occasionally delay parcels for three weeks or more. These new delivery costs and times may surprise those unaware of these changes and who are accustomed to the rapidity and affordability of America’s intra-national parcel services, which are so efficient inside the country’s borders but which also do not (yet) submit to such measures. We apologize in advance to customers whose orders may run afoul of the new system and ask them for their patience and understanding.
Expedited shipping via Federal Express is available; please signal this upon checkout along with your delivery option and a revised invoice will be forwarded you, or provide your FedEx account number with your order.
Returns: Defective cards will be reshipped upon request; books are returned at purchaser’s expense for refund of purchase price upon receipt in original condition and packaging. Please signal goods damaged in shipment upon receipt for replacement. |
